Position Description:

The Executive Director will oversee all operations, functions, and activities. This position will be the face of the organization, responsible for giving the proper strategic direction and implementing the Riding for Dreams vision.

Key Areas Of Responsibility
Strategic Planning:

  • Continually evaluate Riding for Dreams objectives to ensure that they are consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization

  • Develop and execute programs and strategies that advance the mission and vision of Riding for Dreams

Administration and Program Management:

  • Adheres to the safety and compliance standards established by the Board of Directors

  • Maintain finances of the organization including profit and loss statements, donations, and financial reporting

  • Take an active role in Human Resources including recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating of employees

  • Oversee board development, board orientations, and coordinate the board nomination process

  • Oversees overall facility management, including horse care

  • Oversees the student/family experience from recruitment to enrollment

Fundraising:

  • Develop/oversee fund development plans and the implementation of fundraising initiatives

  • Lead the grant application process; find, apply for, manage, and evaluate grant opportunities for the organization

  • Develop and leverage Riding for Dreams programs to identify potential donors and partners

  • Diversify and increase funding sources

  • Cultivate and nurture donor relationships

  • Assist and be the point person for building campaign projects and marketing for Riding for Dreams

Communications:

  • Serves as the primary point of contact with prospective and current families/students

  • Serve as the face of the organization and as an engaging voice for the mission, vision, and strategies of Riding for Dreams, to include television interviews, written statements, and a strong social media presence

  • Serve as the primary liaison with local government officials, business partners, contractors, etc.

  • Demonstrate an ability to manage conflict, build consensus, and facilitate problem-solving and collaboration among various parties

Project Management:

  • Oversee building construction projects with both volunteer labor and hired contractors

  • Oversees all programmatic projects as determined by the Board of Directors

Job Type: Full-time, exempt

Pay: $45,000-$55,000 Based on Experience, potential for Annual Performance Based Incentive, DOE

Benefits:

  • $500/month healthcare stipend

  • Open PTO plan

Schedule:

  • Standard work week of Monday to Friday

  • Weekend and evening availability, as needed for event/fundraising support

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, preferred

  • At least one year of nonprofit management or development, preferred

Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of PATH standards desirable

  • Ability to develop and maintain a healthy work culture

  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Public speaking

  • Budget management

  • Experience with Outlook, Facebook, Sign-Up Genius, and Canva, preferred

Work Location:

  • Remote with regular arena visits
